General Correspondence Page Number 12 Respondent No. 1 Continued on from Mailing List ‘C’: No. 03 RESPONDENT: Richard, just checking to see if you are still alive. You and I did a bit of verbal sparring on the John DeRuiter Yahoo Groups web forum in 2000. I’ve pretty much given up the verbal sparring since then, live and let live, you know? People have to do what seems right for them. Hope you are well. RICHARD: Yes, I am still alive and well although I am not writing on web forums these days other than occasionally on my own mailing list ... Viz.: www.topica.com/lists/actualfreedom/read I recollect that we discussed the subject of amorality – and why the enlightened state was unable to deliver such a remarkable freedom – but I did not know that you experienced it as ‘verbal sparring’ ... I was entirely sincere as it is a matter of vital importance for human beings anywhere and anywhen. I would suggest that to have the philosophy of ‘live and let live’ is to cop-out on the hard questions ... where peoples cease doing ‘what seems right for them’ and start living in the purity and perfection of this actual world is where the already always existing peace-on-earth becomes apparent sooner rather than later. Ain’t life grand! RESPONDENT: Yes, life is grand! I’ve revised my thoughts on the ‘enlightened state’ since we last ‘chatted’, ha, ha, I’ve come to the conclusion that I haven’t met anyone or talked to anyone who actually had been there. What I’ve realized is that there is an awakening that happens to consciousness, but the intellect pretty much stays untouched by this, and then one has to go thru their mind and examine the entire contents of their mind and weigh each thought and test it for realness. So far, no one has been able to show me how this isn’t right, so for now, this is what I’m running with. RICHARD: The way ‘this isn’t right’ is plain to see: the benchmark against which ‘the entire contents of the mind’ are weighed and tested is but morality in a different disguise .... the pristine purity of an actual freedom from the human condition renders any morality redundant. When one goes beyond enlightenment and starts living in the perfection of this actual world, where peace-on-earth already always is, the intellect is flushed clean in one fell swoop ... nothing ‘dirty’ can get in, as it were. The lessons of history shows that all enlightened states – which is what ‘an awakening that happens to consciousness’ is – are unable to deliver such a remarkable freedom that amorality indubitably is. Respondent No. 2 RICHARD: Appended further below is the e-mail I was referring to, during our discussion yesterday afternoon, in regards to directing all of the affective energy into being the felicitous/ innocuous feelings. Also, here is quote which is particularly relevant:
Plus, I have summarised the way in which the actualism method works in practice as follows (the points numbered 6 and 7 are the ones which are pertinent to what was being discussed):
Incidentally, here is that very last paragraph (deliberately placed there for obvious reasons) in ‘Richard’s Journal’ which I was referring to:
RETURN TO GENERAL CORRESPONDENCE INDEX RETURN TO RICHARD’S CORRESPONDENCE INDEX The Third Alternative (Peace On Earth In This Life Time As This Flesh And Blood Body) Here is an actual freedom from the Human Condition, surpassing Spiritual Enlightenment and any other Altered State Of Consciousness, and challenging all philosophy, psychiatry, metaphysics (including quantum physics with its mystic cosmogony), anthropology, sociology ... and any religion along with its paranormal theology. Discarding all of the beliefs that have held humankind in thralldom for aeons, the way has now been discovered that cuts through the ‘Tried and True’ and enables anyone to be, for the first time, a fully free and autonomous individual living in utter peace and tranquillity, beholden to no-one.
