Fears, you are complicit in the ongoing horror of the Human Condition, concerned with ‘grown up’ issues, fairy stories that masquerade as the Truth

PETER: Hi,

RESPONDENT: Fear(s) I’ve had a few. I mentioned rodents in my last post. How do you see specific ‘phobias?’

How about people in extreme circumstances? For example, concentration camp survivors? Could Richard, or one of you, tell how actual freedom works if faced with a real horror?

PETER: Actual Freedom works in that it eliminates the very root cause of man’s inhumanity to man. Regardless, whether you are someone who pulls the lever or the trigger, who guards the perimeter, who passionately seeks justice or revenge, who is so appalled as to selfishly turn away, who believes that your God is the only God, who dismisses it all as an illusion, who supports a particular cause or belief or riles against it or who regards genocide, murder, rape, torture and child abuse as an aberration and not the norm, is irrelevant – you are complicit in the ongoing horror of the Human Condition.

So horrendous is the Human Condition that over 160,000,000 human beings were killed by their fellow human beings in the last century in wars alone and over 40,000,000 human beings killed themselves in utter despair. It is only by facing this real horror and not turning away by saying ‘I’m all right Jack’, ‘it wasn’t me’, or selfishly imagining yourself to be on the ‘good side’ of the fantasy divide of Good and Evil, will you ever be moved to do something about acknowledging, investigating and eventually eliminating your own malice and sorrow.

That is what the process of actualism offers and that is what Actual Freedom delivers.

I liked it when you came on this list and said –

[Respondent]: ‘I’m excited because I’ve thought there was more to this process of ‘growing up’ than I’d found and now I think maybe I’ve found it, with you ’ [endquote].

Your question indicates that you are indeed concerned with ‘grown up’ issues and you are most definitely on the right list if you are looking for ‘grown up’ answers. If you decide to become an actualist you will find that the first thing that needs to be left behind is believing in any of the puerile spiritual/religious fairy stories that masquerade as the Truth ... or as Salvation.

P.S. You may find some useful information about this topic in the Peace chapter of my journal where I have written about the horror of war, and Richard’s writing of his first-hand experience of the horror of war will also may be valuable in your investigations.
